• Certified by the State Department of Mental Health to provide crisis stabilization services up to 23 hours
• Functions as a psychiatric emergency room for individuals brought in by emergency responders such as law enforcement or ambulance from local emergency rooms. Individuals are also self-referred or brought in by outpatient service providers or family members. Dispositions include referral to outpatient services, diversion to another psychiatric facility (for those insured or out-of-county), or admission to the MHTC Inpatient Unit.

MERT provides crisis stabilization services to minors. It is located in a separate area within the Crisis Unit.
